The amount of Linux distributions increases each day, because even when some distributions have large amounts of users like Ubuntu or Fedora, there are other users and developers that are looking for other concepts for their distribution, as occurs with Bodhi Linux.
The name, Bodhi, comes from Sanskrit meaning enlightenment, something that isn't at all strange if we take into account that it uses the Enlightenment windows management system, that stands out due to its elegance and lightweight.
The distribution is directly based on Ubuntu, but it maximizes the use of Enlightenment to offer a desktop environment with multiple virtual desktop to be able to distribute all the tools in a more practical and ordered format.
The first thing that stands out of Enlightenment is that it makes it very easy to access the menus, because it only requires the user to click on any empty part of the desktop. Thus making it very easy to access the applications.
One of the really useful elements of Enlightenment that Bodhi Linux uses is Everything, that allows to locate and open any application, document, image or other type of file that is stored on the computer by simply writing its name.
Following up with its minimalistic and light design, Bodhi Linux includes the Midori browser, that is still under development. But both for the browser as well as the other programs that it offers its own application store where it is possible to download and install all kinds of software with great ease.
